From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed: An account of some of Gérard's lion-hunting adventures. Dumas knew and admired Gérard.
First appeared in "Le Mousquetaire" under the dates of November 24th, 25th, 27th and 30th, 1853. The first number bore the title "Le Tueur de Lions," the other three that of "La Chasse au Lion."
It helped to fill the last volume of "César" (see page 336).
In 1860 it formed one of the collection of articles forming the two volumes of "Causeries," as "Le Lion de l'Aurès."
In Le Vasseur's "Alexandre Dumas Illustré" it is in Vol. XXIV.
