From A Bibliography of Alexandre Dumas père by Frank Wild Reed:
"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord."—Apocalypse of St. John.
     Seventeen regular stanzas, each of six lines, rhyming a, a, b, c, c, b.
Apparently M. Glinel was at first only acquainted with verses one to ten, twelve, sixteen and seventeen, since the others are inserted (in his MS. copy) in a handwriting which, if his, as seems probable, is that of a man much older than the writer of the others. He states: "This poem, written entirely in the hand of Dumas, does not bear his signature." (1). It was No. 55 in the catalogue of autographs sold by the Hôtel Drouot on the 18th of January, 1887, by M. Georges Boulland, appraiser, assisted by M. Eugène Charavay, expert.
     (1) It may here be noted that much, indeed the greater part, of Dumas' early verse in MS. was not signed by him.
Undated. Apparently it has never been printed.
