It is the twelfth piece (pp. 115 to 120) in the MS. "Préludes Poétiques," and this gives the assurance that the date cannot be later than 1830.
M. Glinel reprinted it in his "Alexandre Dumas et Son Œuvre," pp. 308 and 309. In his MS. collection of Dumas' poems, be indicates nine variants between the printed version and that in the MS.
